CONFESSIONS SATURDAY  11 TO 12.   &   5.45 to 6.15pm STATIONS OF THE CROSS:  Friday & Saturday at 11.55

Last Sunday we heard from our Cardinal speaking to us about our Christian understanding of marriage. There many types of ‘relationships’ in this world – but it doesn’t make them the same or equal and it is not right to call all relationships ‘Marriage’. Now they may have to remove Mr. & Mrs, from official documents  -  and find ‘new words’. If it ends up as Mr & Mr  or Mrs & Mrs so be it – why change everything? The information about the e-petition follows -  I have done it so it must be easy!! and it was! Please take 2 minutes to add your name and support.

In light of recent Government proposals, the Bishops of England and Wales are urging people to sign the petition arranged by “Coalition for Marriage”, a body that supports the traditional institution of marriage. If you or your parishioners would like to sign it, the website where to do so is There is also a link on the diocesan website.

We will be having a little Service for the children making their 1st Confession (Sacrament of RECONCILIATION) THIS Tuesday (20th) at 6pm in Church. Please keep the children in your hearts and prayers. Thank you.

All these churches will be open on the Rota days for private prayer before the Blessed Sacrament to pray for the success of the Congress in June. ANNUAL HCPT RACE NIGHT   To help the 10 Children we are taking to Lourdes this Easter. This will take place tonight  St Patrick’s night  - Saturday 17th March. Starting after the 6.30 mass, the first race will begin at around 7.30pm in the Parish Centre next door. Entrance is Free :   but you can Sponsor a Horse which you ‘give a name’  -  it will be entered into a race during the evening and if it wins you will receive a nice bottle of wine. We have our own bookmakers so that you can have a bet on the horses. It is a great fun filled family evening. How do we get 8 Horses running in a race in our centre all at once???  Well come and see and enjoy! Horse Sponsor Forms are near the church doors. £5 for a Horse. Many Thanks.

Our parish charity, ‘I Believe’ is holding a Michael Buble tribute concert in St. Alban’s Social Club on Saturday, 14th April. Tickets are on sale at the back of both churches. The cost of each ticket is £10, and this includes entry into the concert, a potato pie supper and entry into a free draw with the prize of a voucher worth £100 to spend on a Bosch electrical appliance from Toplex of Sudell Cross. Now that’s a bargain! As well as all this there will be a raffle with tickets on sale on the night and of course the bar will be open throughout the evening. All profits will go to our projects in Cambodia, including the building of an extension to our school at Chombok So later this year.

Sal Southard will be missing from the bookshop at the back of St. Alban’s today (Sunday, 18th March) as she will be running a stall for our charity at a ‘car boot sale’ in King George’s Hall from 9.00am to 3.00pm. If you are in town today why not drop in on her, be worth it just to find out how she got her car up the stairs.

We still have our Fun Quiz Night on Wednesday evening in the Parish Centre  - it starts after the Gateway Club at 9.30pm. Lots of topical questions and a friendly ‘chatty’ quiz’. But still very competitive! You don’t have to be a member or anything  -  or feel obliged to come every Wednesday  - if you can , just pop along and enjoy the banter and testing the grey mater. The cost is minimal  - the beer is good  - shame about the quizmaster – who is still Father Jude.

Please remember our Parish Centre  -  if you are having a ‘Family Do’ or celebration; 21st, 40th   60th Birthday Party etc..  A celebration after a Baptism / Funeral / Wedding evening then please think to

Father:  The Lord be with you.      Our New Response:  AND WITH YOUR SPIRIT

The New I Confess                           I confess to almighty God

And to you, my brothers and sisters,

That I have greatly sinned,

In my thoughts and in my words, In what I have done

And in what I have failed to do,

Through my fault, through my fault

Through my most grievous fault.

Therefore I ask blessed Mary ever-virgin, All the angels and saints,

And you, my brothers and sisters to pray for me to the Lord my God

Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to people of good will.

We praise you, we bless you, we adore you, we glorify you, we give you thanks for your great glory,
Lord God, heavenly King, O God, almighty Father.

Lord Jesus Christ, Only Begotten Son, Lord God, Lamb of God,
Son of the Father, you take away the sins of the world, have mercy on us;
you take away the sins of the world, receive our prayer;

you are seated at the right hand of the Father, have mercy on us.

For you alone are the Holy One,  you alone are the Lord,
you alone are the Most High, Jesus Christ, with the Holy Spirit,  in the glory of God the Father. Amen

I believe in one God, the Father almighty, maker of heaven and earth,
of all things visible and invisible.

I believe in one Lord Jesus Christ, the Only Begotten Son of God, born of the Father before all ages.

God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God,
begotten, not made, consubstantial with the Father;
through him all things were made.
For us men and for our salvation he came down from heaven,
and by the Holy Spirit was incarnate of the Virgin Mary, and became man.
For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate, he suffered death and was buried,
and rose again on the third day
in accordance with the Scriptures.
He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead
and his kingdom will have no end.

I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the Lord, the giver of life,
who proceeds from the Father and the Son,
who with the Father and the Son is adored and glorified,
who has spoken through the prophets.
I believe in one, holy, catholic and apostolic Church.
I confess one baptism for the forgiveness of sins
and I look forward to the resurrection of the dead
and the life of the world to come. Amen

Holy, Holy, Holy Lord God of hosts.
Heaven and earth are full of your glory.
Hosanna in the highest.
Blessed is he who comes
in the name of the Lord.

Hosanna in the highest.

Priest: The Lord be with you.
People: And with your spirit.
Priest: Lift up your hearts.
People: We lift them up to the Lord.
Priest: Let us give thanks
to the Lord our God.
People: It is right and just

Priest: The mystery of faith.

A – We proclaim your death, O Lord,
and profess your Resurrection
until you come again.

PRAYER FOR PEACE after the Our FatherLord Jesus Christ, who said to your Apostles, Peace I leave you,  my peace I give you, look not on our sins, but on the faith of your Church, and graciously grant her peace and unity in accordance with your will.  Who live and reign for ever and ever.

All: Lord, I am not worthy
that you should enter under my roof,
but only say the word
and my soul shall be healed.

The Lord be with you    Response:    AND WITH YOUR SPIRIT
