From today we are using the New Words at Mass. We have written them out on the other side of the Newsletter. Slowly but surely we get used to them. If we say them a little bit slower then it will help us to concentrate on them better and sat them with conviction and meaning.

We will have a Family Mass on the 11th of September with our young people leading us in prayer. After Mass we will have a FUN DAY AFTERNOON in the Social Centre. Our HCPT Lourdes people are organising this. There will be lots of little Money Spinners  --  HOOK A DUCK /  CHOCOLATE TOMBOLA / Spinning Wheel /  PLAY YOUR CARDS RIGHT to mention but a few. It will be a fun packed Family afternoon and I Hope you can come along – whatever your age – and bring your friends along too!

Can anyone BAKE CAKES  for the Cake Stall  - pretty please

DIVIDE AND CONQUER: Was a phrase coined to help in the Cleaning and care of our Church here at St Alban’s. One or two of our helpers have been bitten with bug ‘Age’ and ‘Bad Backs’ ………..  So we are in great need of a few more sturdy volunteers to help with the Church Cleaning.

This can take place on a ‘When you can do it basis’  -  or on a Thursday or Friday Morning. We have the brushes etc.. Many thanks  - we have a few more volunteers  keep coming !

QUIZ NIGHT  back in  business on Wednesday evening in the Social Centre:  begins at 9.30pm with Fr Jude asking the Questions: this is a fun quiz / friendly nature  - no big prizes  - only the prize of participation and a chance to win – the Honour of Winning. £1 a team and all the proceeds help with our Lourdes Children Funds. Make a wee team and join the fun.  This is not Brain of Britain stuff.

PARISH WEBSITE  New and Updated is on

Please remember our Parish Centre  -  if you are having a ‘Family Do’ or celebration; 21st, 40th   60th Birthday Party etc..  A celebration after a Baptism / Funeral / Wedding evening then please think to

Hire our Centre for your Party. Pop in after Mass 4 a drink & a look in Tel: 661193 to enquire/book.

Callum, who has been living here at St Alban’ on a preparatory year of preparation for Major Seminary, will soon be leaving us and moving to the Seminary in Valladolid. He will begin his studies for the priesthood with a year at the Spanish seminary. Callum placement here has involved working most of the time at the THOMAS Centre for drug & Alcohol rehabilitation. We will keep him in our prayers – it is so heartening to know that young men are still offering their lives to God in his service for priesthood. He will always be welcome here during the holidays. So we will see him again. God bless Callum – pray – study and learn well.

Father:  The Lord be with you.      Our New Response:  AND WITH YOUR SPIRIT

The New I Confess                           I confess to almighty God

And to you, my brothers and sisters,

That I have greatly sinned,

In my thoughts and in my words, In what I have done

And in what I have failed to do,

Through my fault, through my fault

Through my most gervious fault.

Therefore I ask blessed Mary ever-virgin, All the angels and saints,

And you, my brothers and sisters  to pray for me to the Lord my God

Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to people of good will.

We praise you, we bless you, we adore you, we glorify you, we give you thanks for your great glory,
Lord God, heavenly King, O God, almighty Father.

Lord Jesus Christ,
Only Begotten Son,

Lord God, Lamb of God,
Son of the Father,
you take away the sins of the world, have mercy on us;
you take away the sins of the world, receive our prayer;

you are seated at the right hand of the Father, have mercy on us.

For you alone are the Holy One,  you alone are the Lord,
you alone are the Most High, Jesus Christ, with the Holy Spirit,  in the glory of God the Father. Amen.

I believe in one Lord Jesus Christ, the Only Begotten Son of God, born of the Father before all ages.

God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, consubstantial with the Father;
through him all things were made.

For us men and for our salvation he came down from heaven, and by the Holy Spirit was incarnate of the Virgin Mary, and became man.
For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate, he suffered death and was buried,
and rose again on the third day
in accordance with
the Scriptures.
He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead and his kingdom will have no end.

I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life,
who proceeds from the Father and the Son,
who with the Father and the Son is adored and glorified, who has spoken through the prophets.

I believe in one, holy, catholic and apostolic Church.
I confess one baptism for the forgiveness of sins.

and I look forward to the resurrection of the dead
and the life of the world to come. Amen

ST VINCENT de PAUL Association meet here in the Presbytery fortnightly on Tuesday evenings at 6 pm for their prayer and discussions about he work they do in the parish:  They do a marvellous work they can do. They have great faith and show it with good works of charity. I truly believe more people have the desire and zeal to help the Parish through the SVP:  Please ring John Gannon for details & Date of next Meeting on 661258.

If anyone goes to Hospital and is likely to be there for a few days …. Please tell Fr Jude and I will do my best to visit them in hospital

THE LEGION OF MARY  WOULD LIKE TO RECRUIT NEW MEMBERS. The organisation is open to any Catholic men and women. The Legion meet as a group once a week to pray together, to allocate work to be completed during the week and to report on work previously done. Our work consists in visiting the sick and housebound and those in retirement and nursing homes and in hospital. We always visit in pairs. We also like to support the parish priest in any ventures that may increase the spiritual life of a parish. It only takes 2 hours a week of your time; one hour for the meeting and another hour for the visiting or work allocated. Please contact  Margaret  601678   Peter Costello on 262952 /Stella  661503  or Joan on 886033.

We need some more prizes for the charity stalls held after Sunday Masses in St. Alban’s Club. If you have anything we can use for our tombola please bring it to church and help us with our efforts.
