Well!! Lent is coming and starts this Wednesday. Fast & Abstinence for the over 14’s to 60 year olds. Fridays in Lent should have a real power of penance & prayer for us all. I feel that any ‘Giving Up’ involves a ‘Gain’ .. often financial.. as we are saving on ‘something’.. so have a jar / box / tin.. to put in your Lenten savings.. after 40 days there should be a reasonable sum to give to any favourite charities of yours! This links up fasting and alms giving.

PRAYER: Rosary / Extra daily masses..Fri / Sat at 12.15.. early Friday mass at 7.30am…Stations of the Cross: the bottom door is open Wednesday onwards: Take quiet time at home.. RC Newspapers Universe & Catholic Times at the back of church. We have ‘to pray’ as well as ‘say prayers’.

Let’s make decisions this weekend about ‘WHAT I NEED TO DO WITH MY CATHOILIC / CHRISTIAN LIFE.

God bless all our efforts in the Lord’s name and help.

DEANERY MASS FOR VOCATIONS TO THE PRIESTHOOD AND RELIGIOUS LIFE

There will be a deanery mass for this intention as follows:

Wednesday 8 March, 2017 at St Joseph’s Church, Blackburn at 7.00 p.m.

This will be a wonderful celebration and it is expected that all parishes will be involved, as well as children from all our primary and secondary schools who will have roles in music, serving, reading, writing bidding prayers, acting out the Gospel, creating banners and using movement and much more!  It will finish by 8.10 p.m. and refreshments will be available afterwards.  It is so important that we pray the Lord will provide labourers to work in the harvest so please come to the mass and lend your support and your prayers.

LET’S HELP THE PARISH FAMILYPlease pray about how each one of us can do more to
