ST ALBAN’S SOCIAL CLUB & FAMILY CENTRE

The building adjacent to our church has been a significant facility for this parish; firstly as a school since 1866 but in later years it has been supported by parishioners & their families as their social centre.

If there isn’t a Private Function on a Friday evening: there will be BINGO with the 1st House at 8.30pm : Club opens at 7.30pm AND on these occasions there is a free supper…so please come along and support the Club. Thanks

 

NURSERY is mornings only at the moment. On Tuesday afternoons we will be having a Caterpillar Club for parents and children under 3 from 1.30pm to 3pm. This Tuesday 13th September there will be a “come & look” and sign up session form 2.30pm to 3.15pm.

 

KNIGHTS OF ST. COLUMBA:  Rosary every Friday evening at 7.30pm in Church. All welcome whenever possible. (Please use the side door near to the presbytery) Thanks to the Knights for leading us in prayer.

OCTOBER ROSARY CRUSADE: 6TH /7TH & 8TH      

 Thursday     6th October at 6pm at Good Shepherd Church:   

 Friday          7th October at 6 pm at St Joseph’s Church and

 Saturday      8th October at 11.45am followed by Mass at St Albans’s Church at 12.15.

FR. JOE’S SISTER……. Sr Ella has taken a big turn for the worse. Joe had to go back to Weymouth last Thursday and will remain there until she goes to Almighty God. Joe will care for her funeral and return when he can. Please keep Sr Ella and all the family in your prayers. Ella was as close to being a saint of anyone I have met! 

 

ADVENT / CHRISTMAS FAYRE AT ST. ALBAN’S SOCIAL CENTRE  SUNDAY 4th DECEMBER

Proceeds to be shared between the Parish & Fr Ephraim’s work in Kenya.

There will be Stalls with  --  Christmas Gifts  -  Chocolate Tombola  -  Jarbola  -  Cake Stall etc.

Father Christmas will be there as well!!

 HOW YOU CAN HELP NOW:- We will put out a box at the back for Church for:-

--Any kind of CHOCOLATE (little bars to boxes)  EMPTY JARS (with lids) / Any Christmas Gift Bags

--TOMBOLA PRIZES / Any BOTTTLES (Full ones !!) / Anything Chistmassy. Many thanks.

There will be the usual M & S Hamper Raffle & a WINNER TAKERS ALL Bumper Drinks Hamper.

We are grateful to many of our parishioners who have volunteered for this important ministry already. It is part of our priestly duties to visit the sick. We are delighted to be able to support our parishioners in any way.

HOLY SOULS PARISH HALL BRUNCH CLUB --An invitation to St Alban’s & Good Shepherd Parishes

                             The Brunch Club at Holy Souls hall has been running on Mondays at 12 noon for over 3 years and recommenced on Monday 5th September. We serve soup and roll followed by cake with tea or coffee. It is a lovely social meeting place for our local community in the Brownhill area.

We have volunteer helpers and if transport is needed we have some drivers to help. We would love to see you there now that we have restarted. So please feel free to come along on any Monday.

MOTHER’S PRAYER DATES AT ST. ALBAN’S (All on Wednesdays now starting at 3.30pm)

These are little gatherings to pray for sons and daughters of families who seem to have drifted away from the practice of the faith, and which is very often a great heartache for their mums and dads. These gatherings are specially for mums who want to pray together for this need and intention. They take place as follows:-

 WEDNESDAY           5th October …… and every fortnight
