ST ALBAN’S SOCIAL CLUB & FAMILY CENTRE

The building adjacent to our church has been a significant facility for this parish; firstly as a school since 1866 but in later years it has been supported by parishioners & their families as their social centre.

If there isn’t a Private Function on a Friday evening: there will be BINGO with the 1st House at 8.30pm : Club opens at 7.30pm AND on these occasions there is a free supper…so please come along and support the Club. Thanks

 

 

NURSERY is mornings only at the moment.

On Tuesday afternoons we will be having a Caterpillar Club for parents and children under 3 from 1.30pm to 3pm. This Tuesday 13th September there will be a “come & look” and sign up session form 2.30pm to 3.15pm.

 

 

LEGION OF MARY: A DAY OF RECOLLECTION & PRAYER 

This will take place at the LADYWELL SHRINE in Preston on SATURDAY 17th SEPTEMBER.

The Coach leaves St Alban’s at 9.30am & Sacred Heart Church at 9.45am.

Book your seat with Peter Costello on 262952.                                   The day finishes at 3.30.

We are grateful to many of our parishioners who have volunteered for this important ministry already. It is part of our priestly duties to visit the sick. We are delighted to be able to support our parishioners in any way.

ACTION 4 CAMBODIA--SOCIAL EVENING AT GOOD SHEPHERD HALL.

The Committee of our parish charity is organising this ‘Social Evening’ in the The Good Shepherd Parish Hall ON SATURDAY 24TH SEPTEMBER AT 7.30PM. The evening will include Games of Bingo, Quizzes, and a Potato Pie or Cheese and Onion Pie Supper. There will also be a raffle and hopefully lots of socialising. (All money raised will go to Action 4 Cambodia)

THE PRICE OF TICKETS IS £10 (including the Bingo Tickets.)  Please bring your own liquid refreshment!!

We are also looking for donors to help us with suitable prizes for the raffle, bingo and the quizzes. These can be given to Mavis Deeney at Good Shepherd, or Sal Southard and Steve Hedderman at St. Alban’s.

Tickets are also available from them or any other member of the committee.

 

HOLY SOULS PARISH HALL BRUNCH CLUB

An invitation to St Alban’s & Good Shepherd Parishes

                             The Brunch Club at Holy Souls hall has been running on Mondays at 12 noon for over 3 years. We serve soup and roll followed by cake with tea or coffee. It is a lovely social meeting place for our local community in the Brownhill area.

We have volunteer helpers and if transport is needed we have some drivers to help. We would love to see you when we restart on:- Monday 5th September

MOTHER’S PRAYER DATES AT ST. ALBAN’S (All on Wednesdays starting at 4pm)

These are little gatherings to pray for sons and daughters of families who seem to have drifted away from the practice of the faith, and which is very often a great heartache for their mums and dads. These gatherings are specially for mums who want to pray together for this need and intention. They take place as follows:-

 WEDNESDAY                21 September …… and every fortnight

 

KNIGHTS OF ST. COLUMBA:  Rosary every Friday evening at 7.30pm in Church. All and everyone are welcome, whenever you can make it.: please use the side door near to the presbytery.

CHARITY DAY AT “YOUR CHOICE” opposite Blackburn Library on Wednesday 21 September.

If anyone can bake their own cakes as part of the Cake Sale please have a word with Patsy at back of church after 11.15 Mass . Thanks Jude
