COMMUNION TO THE SICK AND HOUSEBOUND If you know of anyone who would like a regular visit please complete the details on the form below:-

We are grateful to many of our parishioners who have volunteered for this important ministry already. It is part of our priestly duties to visit the sick. We are delighted to be able to support our parishioners in any way.  Fathers Jude, Joe & Paul

QUIZ MONEY SENT TO FATHER EPHRAIM Father Ephraim’s email illustrates just some of the real issues he has to deal with during his work in Africa and how the money we have sent can really help:-

“I write to express my gratitude for the £250 received from the three churches for my mission work. I do appreciate your thoughtfulness and thank you very much. Our concern here is to reach out to the needy. There are moments I spend days on the road to the clinics and hospitals with patients in the car. I can be called out to anoint the sick person and I end up taking them for medical attention especially those who are stigmatised due to HIV/AIDS. A bit of love puts life back into their bodies. Then the poor cannot afford to buy food. Then there are the orphans and the widowed grandmothers caring for the orphans left by their daughters and sons. It is a cycle of poverty. So any help I receive is for a good cause. God bless and thanks once again.”

The Committee of our parish charity is organising this ‘Social Evening’ in the The Good Shepherd Parish Hall ON SATURDAY 24TH SEPTEMBER AT 7.30PM. The evening will include Games of Bingo, Quizzes, and a Potato Pie or Cheese and Onion Pie Supper. There will also be a raffle and hopefully lots of socialising. (All money raised will go to Action 4 Cambodia)

THE PRICE OF TICKETS IS £10 (including the Bingo Tickets.)  Please bring your own liquid refreshment!!

We are also looking for donors to help us with suitable prizes for the raffle, bingo and the quizzes. These can be given to Mavis Deeney at Good Shepherd, or Sal Southard and Steve Hedderman at St. Alban’s.

Tickets are also available from them or any other member of the committee.

The Brunch Club at Holy Souls hall has been running on Mondays at 12 noon for over 3 years. We serve soup and roll followed by cake with tea or coffee. It is a lovely social meeting place for our local community in the Brownhill area.

Drivers are especially needed and if you can help: please ring MAUREEN 249302  or

MOTHER’S PRAYER DATES AT ST. ALBAN’S (All on Wednesdays starting at 4pm)

These are little gatherings to pray for sons and daughters of families who seem to have drifted away from the practice of the faith, and which is very often a great heartache for their mums and dads. These gatherings are specially for mums who want to pray together for this need and intention. They take place as follows:-

WEDNESDAY                21 September …… and every fortnight

KNIGHTS OF ST. COLUMBA:  Rosary every Friday evening at 7.30pm in Church. All and everyone are welcome, whenever you can make it.: please use the side door near to the presbytery.

Thanks to the Knights for leading us in prayer.

SEAMSTRESS HELP REQUIRED We are looking to have about a dozen altar boy/girl garments made like the one which has been left at the back of the church. Is there anyone out there who would be able to make these garments ? All the cloth etc would of course be supplied. To buy these readymade are expensive so any help in making our own would be most appreciated. Please contact Father Jude if you can help. Thank you
