There are some Booklets at the back of Church… We are seeking a Parish Rep (who will be a sort of Parish Co-ordinator) to help increase awareness amongst us all. MOTHER’S PRAYER DATES AT ST. ALBAN’S (All on Wednesdays starting at 4pm)

These are little gatherings to pray for sons and daughters of families who seem to have drifted away from the practice of the faith, and which is very often a great heartache for their mums and dads. These gatherings are specially for mums who want to pray together for this need and intention. They take place as follows:-

18 May                                     1 June          15 June                              29 June

13 July        27 July          10 August                24 August …… and every fortnight

WHY GOING TO CHURCH ONCE A WEEK MAY SAVE YOUR LIFE!!

Going to church is good for your health and can slash the risk of dying early by a third!! Attending just once a week is linked to lower rates of heart disease and cancer according to a study.

Researchers cannot say exactly why but it is thought a higher level of optimism and stronger sense of community among church-goers combats poor lifestyles and stresses associated with diseases. The Harvard University Professor responsible said “Our results suggest that there may be something important about religious service attendance beyond solitary spirituality. Part of the benefit seems to be that attending religious services increases social support, discourages smoking, decreases depression, and helps people develop a more optimistic or hopeful outlook on life”

KNIGHTS OF ST. COLUMBA:  Rosary every Friday evening at 7.30pm in Church. All and everyone are welcome, whenever you can make it.: please use the side door near to the presbytery.

Thanks to the Knights for leading us in prayer.
