ST ALBAN’S SOCIAL CLUB & FAMILY CENTRE

The building adjacent to our church has been a significant facility for this parish; firstly as a school since 1866 but in later years it has been supported by parishioners & their families as their social centre.

MEMBERSHIP  Please consider joining along with friends and neighbours if possible.

MEMBERSHIP FEES for 2015:  Under 65   £5        65 – 79 years £3        Over 80 Free

If there isn’t a Private Function on a Friday evening: there will be BINGO with the 1st House at 8.30pm : Club opens at 7.30pm AND on these occasions there is a free supper…so please come along and support the Club. Thanks

 

GIFT AID ENVELOPES:  Just a Thankful thought to all those who give their collection at mass with Gift Aid Envelopes --  these can be put in the collection plate at any of the 3 churches at Good Shepherd / Holy Souls or St Alban’s and we will pass them along to the appropriate church.

If you are a Tax Payer or your other half is the ‘tax payer’ and you do not use a Gift Aid Envelope – then please do ask for a Box of Envelopes as your church is missing out on 25% of your money!! Not Good!!  Many thanks

 

CHURCH CLEANING: CAN YOU HELP:  Each Thursday in Church from 10am for an hour : Please come along… we do need a bit more help. Thank You.

TAI CHI CLASS

Would anyone from St. Albans or Holy Souls be interested in a Tai Chi class? Mavis from Good Shepherd is trying to arrange one if we have enough for a class.

It would probably be one afternoon but can't be fixed without numbers.

KNIGHTS OF ST COLUMBA

The Knights of St Columba are presenting an “Evening of Entertainment” at the Club on

Friday 19th February with all proceeds going to the Knights Welfare Fund.

Mike Alone is the Singer/Entertainer for the evening which starts at 8pm and goes on till late.

SUPPORT WORKER Part time 18.5 hrs

SCP14-16  £16,231-£16,969 per annum (pro rata for part time)

Working as a team member to provide support, supervision and practical assistance to young vulnerable women and their children in residential accommodation. You will need to have a sound knowledge of the effects of homelessness, needs of young parents and support required to improve outcomes for young children and their parents.

The role requires flexibility to ensure service needs are met and will involve shift working which includes unsociable hours, sleep-ins and weekend work.

An NVQ in Health & Social Care (adults) or equivalent is desirable.

BANK WORKER(S) SCP14, £9.42 per hour (includes rolled up holiday pay)

You will work on an occasional basis to supplement permanent staff when required, which involves shift working, including unsociable hours, sleep-ins and weekend working.
