Developments in Cambodia.

As you will probably know Bob Turner visited Cambodia just before Easter. Jesuit Services have a hygiene programme out there and so he took with him 670 hygiene kits provide by your donations and those from St. Alban’s Primary School and Our Lady of Perpetual Succour Primary School in Blackburn, and St. Mary’s Primary School, Clayton. Your help has reached 670 children in one go. Also due to your support we have been able to buy the land for the extension of our school out there and arranged for its levelling so that building can start when the rainy season ends later in the year. Forty special hygiene kits have also been supplied and 15 more Bike Scholarships donated.

We still need your help. Thank you.

FLOODS IN LOURDES AGAIN: You may have seen the devastating floods in Lourdes last week which were even worse than the one in October  2012. The water from the River Gave almost filled the grotto itself. The Underground basilica and St Bernadette’s & St Joseph’s Churches have been devastated. Even the Hotel where we stay at Easter has had the basement flooded. Clearly bad for the Hotel; but we keep lots of supplies in the basement/garage so they will all have gone as well. They Insurance Companies call it an ‘Act of God’ …..  the poor mother Mary is having a hard time in Lourdes at the moment! They are resilient, the floods have dropped, mops and diggers have worked day  night and the Grotto is open now…. Say a prayer.

I spoke about ‘Readers etc.. recently.. It has pressed a few buttons with some people and Thank you for that. More help welcome; once again, please have a word to help the parish.

Father:  The Lord be with you.      Our New Response:  AND WITH YOUR SPIRIT

The New I Confess                           I confess to almighty God

And to you, my brothers and sisters,

That I have greatly sinned,

In my thoughts and in my words, In what I have done

And in what I have failed to do,

Through my fault, through my fault

Through my most grievous fault.

Therefore I ask blessed Mary ever-virgin, All the angels and saints,

And you, my brothers and sisters to pray for me to the Lord my God

Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to people of good will.

We praise you, we bless you, we adore you, we glorify you, we give you thanks for your great glory,
Lord God, heavenly King, O God, almighty Father.

Lord Jesus Christ, Only Begotten Son, Lord God, Lamb of God,
Son of the Father, you take away the sins of the world, have mercy on us;
you take away the sins of the world, receive our prayer;

you are seated at the right hand of the Father, have mercy on us.

For you alone are the Holy One,  you alone are the Lord,
you alone are the Most High, Jesus Christ, with the Holy Spirit,  in the glory of God the Father. Amen

I believe in one God, the Father almighty, maker of heaven and earth,
of all things visible and invisible.

I believe in one Lord Jesus Christ, the Only Begotten Son of God, born of the Father before all ages.

God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God,
begotten, not made, consubstantial with the Father;
through him all things were made.
For us men and for our salvation he came down from heaven,
and by the Holy Spirit was incarnate of the Virgin Mary, and became man.
For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate, he suffered death and was buried,
and rose again on the third day
in accordance with the Scriptures.
He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead
and his kingdom will have no end.

I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the Lord, the giver of life,
who proceeds from the Father and the Son,
who with the Father and the Son is adored and glorified,
who has spoken through the prophets.
I believe in one, holy, catholic and apostolic Church.
I confess one baptism for the forgiveness of sins
and I look forward to the resurrection of the dead
and the life of the world to come. Amen

Holy, Holy, Holy Lord God of hosts.
Heaven and earth are full of your glory.
Hosanna in the highest.
Blessed is he who comes
in the name of the Lord.

Hosanna in the highest.

Priest: The Lord be with you.
People: And with your spirit.
Priest: Lift up your hearts.
People: We lift them up to the Lord.
Priest: Let us give thanks
to the Lord our God.
People: It is right and just

Priest: The mystery of faith.

A – We proclaim your death, O Lord,
and profess your Resurrection
until you come again.

PRAYER FOR PEACE after the Our FatherLord Jesus Christ, who said to your Apostles, Peace I leave you,  my peace I give you, look not on our sins, but on the faith of your Church, and graciously grant her peace and unity in accordance with your will.  Who live and reign for ever and ever.

All: Lord, I am not worthy
that you should enter under my roof,
but only say the word
and my soul shall be healed.

The Lord be with you    Response:    AND WITH YOUR SPIRIT
