A BELATED SEASONAL MESSAGE FROM CAMBODIA.

This week we received a belated Christmas and New Year message from Fr. Greg in Cambodia.

Dear people of the parish of St. Alban and Good Shepherd and all supporters of ‘I Believe, Action Cambodia Today.

God so loved the world that He gave his only Son.......” (John 3. 16).

This is the good news for us. God becomes human-a baby, poor and helpless. Our God is Emmanuel-God is with us-so close to us. We learn from the Infant Jesus the solidarity of God with us humans. We learn from Him the message of solidarity with the poor and vulnerable.

In this occasion of this Christmas season I would like to express my gratitude to all of you for showing your love and generosity through the solidarity with the poor and vulnerable people of Cambodia. Your assistance, partnership and cooperation serve as an encouragement for Jesuit Service-Cambodia to continue to do its mission, that is to accompany and work with disadvantaged communities in upholding the rights, the welfare and the dignity of the poor by implementing programmes that alleviate poverty, improve education, and establish just relations in Cambodian society.

I wish you a happy new year 2013. I would like to greet you in the Cambodian way by wishing you

All the best regards and God bless.  Father Greg.

Many thanks to the many people who send Christmas Cards, messages and gifts at Christmas to the presbytery. For the Family Candles and masses which will be ‘lit and said’ over the Christmas Season. Your kindness to us here is deeply felt. God bless you all and every blessing for the new year to you and all your families and friends.

Have you spoken to Angel Noddy at the foot of the Crib yet ??

You may also be aware that an initiative is being taken to establish an act of annual remembrance for those that have died during the preceding year. The first of these occasions will be on the 3rd March 2013 in Corporation Park starting at 2.30pm. It is hope that anyone who has lost a relative or friend during the previous 12 months and would like to join in this act of remembrance will have the chance to participate.

Please keep in your prayers:  Peggy Megarity, Susan Reed and Greta Brown whose funerals I am caring for this week. God keep their families in his care.

NEW REPONSES AT MASS

Father:  The Lord be with you.      Our New Response:  AND WITH YOUR SPIRIT

The New I Confess                           I confess to almighty God

And to you, my brothers and sisters,

That I have greatly sinned,

In my thoughts and in my words, In what I have done

And in what I have failed to do,

Through my fault, through my fault

Through my most grievous fault.

Therefore I ask blessed Mary ever-virgin, All the angels and saints,

And you, my brothers and sisters to pray for me to the Lord my God

THE GLORIA

Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to people of good will.

We praise you, we bless you, we adore you, we glorify you, we give you thanks for your great glory,
Lord God, heavenly King, O God, almighty Father.

Lord Jesus Christ, Only Begotten Son, Lord God, Lamb of God,
Son of the Father, you take away the sins of the world, have mercy on us;
you take away the sins of the world, receive our prayer;

you are seated at the right hand of the Father, have mercy on us.

For you alone are the Holy One,  you alone are the Lord,
you alone are the Most High, Jesus Christ, with the Holy Spirit,  in the glory of God the Father. Amen
.

THE CREED

I believe in one God, the Father almighty, maker of heaven and earth,
of all things visible and invisible.

I believe in one Lord Jesus Christ, the Only Begotten Son of God, born of the Father before all ages.

God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God,
begotten, not made, consubstantial with the Father;
through him all things were made.
For us men and for our salvation he came down from heaven,
and by the Holy Spirit was incarnate of the Virgin Mary, and became man.
For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate, he suffered death and was buried,
and rose again on the third day
in accordance with the Scriptures.
He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead
and his kingdom will have no end.

I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the Lord, the giver of life,
who proceeds from the Father and the Son,
who with the Father and the Son is adored and glorified,
who has spoken through the prophets.
I believe in one, holy, catholic and apostolic Church.
I confess one baptism for the forgiveness of sins
and I look forward to the resurrection of the dead
and the life of the world to come. Amen
.

SANCTUS

Holy, Holy, Holy Lord God of hosts.
Heaven and earth are full of your glory.
Hosanna in the highest.
Blessed is he who comes
in the name of the Lord.

Hosanna in the highest.
